IV La Salle Summer Program

Rome, Italy - 2015

Âncora 1
Âncora 2
Âncora 3

Furthermore, the summer program is not wholly about work. It’s not always about tackling issues on social injustice, or environmental problems. It’s also about engaging and interacting with people of different race, language and culture, getting to know them more, and feeling more united under the same network. If it’s all about wanting to make new friends, then students can find them in the summer program. Instructors or professors who facilitate the workshops are as well wonderful to be with.

This experience makes you appreciate more the philosophy, spirit and work of Lasallian community, and makes you more aware to participate in its future challenges, because we are all one La Salle. The program allows you to implement all those principles that will instill in the campus. It´s amazing see how has materialized the dream of one man: St. John Baptist de La Salle and how his wonderful work is expanded to all corners of the Earth. For the other hand, the fact that the program is carried out in a foreign country, makes you appreciate even more your own culture and leaves you very valuable teachings to replicate in your country of origin. Personally, this program has been the best experience of my life. I thank the Lasallian community for the opportunity and hope that the next time, many more people get involved. Really worth.

If I felt as though they met this criteria then I would give them a resounding yes!  There is no reason for someone to miss out on this opportunity to enhance their understanding of the richness of the Lasallian heritage.  Anyone who goes gains a greater appreciation for their school and what it does to provide the most apt recourses/education for their students.  This program also empowers the participant to use Lasallian not only as a name, but as a tool to open up new windows of opportunity for their school or student led organization.  I would want this person to go not only to better themselves but also our school in general.  The more students that go the more connected and unified we will be to create real change!
