III La Salle Summer Program
Barcelona, Spain - 2014
Definitely it is an experience that you won’t forget. In this you will learn the meaning of a lot of things, including valorizing your home and the things you have in it. But at the same time you will have a great opportunity of meeting people from all over the world that you will never forget, this way you understand the reality of the things… the same way during the program you will see the diversity that there is among everybody, but also you will see what keep us together as a lasallian community, that goes beyond a campus, the values and the knowledge we got.
My experience at the LLC? It was like travelling to over 30 different places – beyond countries, states, and cities, right into a person’s individual experience. I’ve learned more about the world than I could have ever imagined fitting into two weeks. What made the experience even more powerful was that everything that transpired, happened with or thought a lasallian lens. Each one of us- from student participants to adult leaders had an amazingly powerful grasp on his or her identity. This identity was not only as a representation of his or her country or as a person- But as a Lasallian.
It was incredible. I had a lot of fun, met amazing people, and learned a lot about myself. It was an experience unlike any other. I had the opportunity to form international relationships and attend lectures delivered by professors from other countries. You cannot have a bad time during the conference. Even though it was located in a single city, I felt like I traveled around the world during the International Nights, events in which each country’s delegates displayed parts of its culture(s). So, I not only got to learn about different countries, but I was fortunate enough to learn from those who live day after day in those cultures.
