V La Salle Summer Program
Mexico City, Mexico - 2016
The things that I would like to say are difficult to say in only a few words. This is unlike any other experience that I have ever had. I through I knew what I was getting into, but I was wrong. I would have never imagined how much I would grow as a leader. This course has given me confidence, the tools and the network to be a leader. I feel so empowered, especially coming from a school that doesn’t have as much school pride.
In order to be an effective leader you need to be able to work with various people and people from different countries. On this trip you not only learn through workshops but through all interactions. The conference, in my opinion, could not have been a biggest success. I will be talking about this the rest of my life. It is something you just need to experience for yourself. You won’t forget it. If you want to be part of something that is bringing people together and starting positive change this is the program for you!
If a friend asked me if he should go to the leadership conference, I would say most definitely yes. It was an absolutely a amazing time and I learned leadership among other lessons that I could not have learned in a classroom or through a book. For me it was an incredibly empowering experience, I always want to be involved in this program in some capacity. You really learn so much about what it means to be Lasallian and the importance of learning with people from all over the world. The best advice I have ever received has been on this trip and one that sticks out the most is that it’s about the process not the end result. The quote takes on a new meaning after this trip.
